Once you’ve purchased a fine instrument or bow from Austin’s Violin Shop, you are entitled to one year of free maintenance. This maintenance package includes cleaning and polishing, adjustments to bridges, pegs, soundposts, repair of open seams, endpin adjustments, or screw replacement for bows.

Please adopt the habit of bringing in your instrument and bow for annual maintenance. This policy will protect the sound and beauty of your equipment, as well as your financial investment in those pieces. Of course, bring us your instrument or bow whenever you feel adjustments or repairs are needed. Our experienced luthiers are on staff weekly. Click here for further details regarding repairs and appraisals.

You will also receive from Austin’s the appropriate paperwork needed by your insurance provider for coverage on your purchase. Austin’s strongly recommends you insure your instrument, bow and case with a rider on your homeowners or rental insurance policy.

Credit terms are available for qualified customers.

If you have rental accumulation here at Austin’s Violin Shop, the money may be used toward the purchase of your pieces.

Austin’s allows you to apply what rental money you have accumulated (up to $1000.00) toward 30% of the instrument’s purchase price.  You can apply rental money up to 20% of the purchase price of a case or bag, and finally up to 10% of the purchase price of a bow.  Instruments and bows may be traded in for larger sizes, or for pieces of higher value.  This means the player can improve the quality of their equipment as their skill improves.

Here is an example of how this works:

You have $800.00 of rental accumulation here at Austin’s Violin Shop.

You purchase a $2000.00 instrument.  You can use $600.00 of your rental credit toward this, as that equals 30% of the sale price.

You purchase a $300.00 case.  You can use $60.00 of your rental credit toward this, as that equals 20% of the sale price.

You purchase a $500.00 bow.  You can use $50.00 of your rental credit toward this, as that equals 10% of the sale price.

You will have used a total of $710.00 of your rental accumulation as a credit against this purchase.  The remaining $90.00 will stay here to be used by you if you decide to up-grade any of the parts of your original purchase.

Any part of your purchase can be traded-up for either a larger size, or a more expensive version of the same size.  Rental credit can be applied to the difference in price between your original purchase and the up-graded purchase.
